Currently I have not the desire, nor the Immediate, Imminent, Immense, "need"...to sit down, and formally learn this language.
The German-Swiss speak excellent English, and seem to enjoy speaking English, much, more than French, which - Happily, is my other Fluent Tongue :)
So at, least I have Options, and can live well, in that sense, here in Switzerland.
However, as far as German goes, I actually, understand quite a lot.
And set aside, a bit of time, each day, to read about: "What is going on".
Trying to Learn About, and err, "Get my head around", this "new" environment...
I am not talking about reading on topics of Politics here, Good God, no, nein-nein-nein and 9 !
(Err, Germanic words can be literally over 25 letters/digits long, good joking, and/or bad joking apart - Sincerely, some immensely loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong words indeed.)
Researching, on the net, as one does, sometimes ever wonder: How did (we) live without it...?
Read this, but not for too, loooong, now !!! Even the Computer Spelling Check cannot cope with this "monster" !
I know it’s petty but what is the longest word in any language, I’ve been told the following (in English) but would hope there is something longer (in any language).
methionylglutaminylarginyltyrosylglutamylserylleucylphenylalanylalanylglutaminylleucyllysyl

This monstrosity of a word is the full scientific name for tryptophan
synthetase A protein, which is an enzyme with 267 amino acids, clocks
in at
exactly 1,913 letters.
I have a question, please: is the above word, with some, line breaks, not just, simply on some kind of a repeat, looping ?
Apparently not, look closely !

Anyhow, have noticed in this daily German Language reading time, that many of the local restaurants, in our area are now advertising, new Lunch and Dinner Menus, as "THE HUNTING SEASON", has begun.
We are talking: Wild Deer and Boar here.
Not, going to go into, a discussion/post about Hunting, at this point.
As I currently, do not know enough about it.
And must admit that have eaten Deer and Boar, and find them both very tasty, rich, but tasty.
Hunting, raises the question of GUNS.
Apparently, many people DO POSSESS GUNS HERE, in SWITZERLAND, contrary to their "Neutral and Mysterious" Reputation.
We are almost at the end of September, and TODAY is "officially": THE FIRST DAY OF AUTUMN.
Here comes: THE BEER...
HUGE AMOUNTS OF,
LOTS OF TYPES OF BEERS,
AT THE ANNUAL BIG BEER FESTIVAL, called: OKTOBERFEST.
From Germany, but also celebrated in Switzerland, particularly, from where I am writing to you, in the "Germanic" part of the country.
OKTOBERFEST
Women wear: DIRNDL Men wear: LEDERHOSEN
NOW THEN NOW THEN....HEAR YE FOLKS, VOLKS:
If you would like to purchase, a version of this suitable attire, at a suitable price, examples of which are illustrated, as above.
Then, GERMAN E-BAY, has plenty of these OKTOBERFEST TRADITIONAL COSTUMES on Sale.
Easily shippable, to "us", here in Switzerland.
A "Version" of which, I would like to include:
It says, that it will give one/you/me/the wearer, a: Knackpo...
Which, going back to German Language, Skills, err, translates as:
Sexy Bum.
Nothing wrong with that.
But no further comment.
Other than I`m still laughing, and my "Restless Boredom Syndrome" of "Swiss-Ness", which I was feeling, and spoke about, in my last Post, has been relieved.
By a GOOD LAUGH.
Until next time, Thanks for Reading, Yours, CFC X
